Why did you get
involved in health and
medical organizations?
"I wanted to give back through
philanthropic work. Hospitals do
a lot of that. I get a lot of satisfac-
tion from service to the medical
community. While I have resigned
from the Detroit Medical Center
positions, I am now devoting my
time to philanthropy.
Clearly, being in good
health is a major priori-
ty for you. How do you
to stay fit?
"I work out three times a week
and play tennis twice a week."
You're 84 and working
full-time with the law
firm. When you plan to
stop?
"I will continue to work until I
can't work anymore?'

"My doctors can't believe it [his
healthy status]. They think I will
live to 120:'
