Brad Seid and Zack Simons.
Shapiro players were Noah Curhan,
Benji Dell, Jake Feldman, Brent Flusty,
Brad Garon, Evan Goldfarb, Jake Isley,
Adam Neff, Justin Rolnitzky and Scott
Sonenberg. Garon and Isley ran for

Shapiro's touchdowns in the champi-
onship game.
Anna Dorf, assistant director of the
Michigan Region B'nai B'rith Youth
Organization, said 13 teams played in the
flag football league this fall with Jolson
and Shapiro each fielding three squads.
Games were played on Sundays from

Sept. 25 through Dec. 4 at the JCC. After
the regular season concluded, three weeks
of playoffs determined the champion.

Tzavah AZA chapter member Zack
Colman of Bloomfield Hills didn't play in
the flag football championship game, but
he also had to deal with the elements.
Colman covered the game as part of his
duties as AZA regional council sopher
(newspaper editor). His story is on the

Michigan Region BBYO Web site,
www.mibbyo.org.
"It was cold out there said Colman, 17,
a senior at Birmingham Groves High. "But
some of the guys wore shorts or shirts
with no sleeves.” .
Colman wasn't surprised that Jolson
and Shapiro made it to the title game
because the two chapters are normally
strong athletically and fierce sports rivals.
But it almost didn't happen. "That would
have been a huge upset if Greenberg had
beaten Jolson in the semifinals,".Colman
said.

Planned Parenthood

.

of Southeast Michigan

Dear Friends,

We, at Planned Parenthood of Southeast Michigan, wish to apologize for
any offense that our many friends and supporters in the Jewish community
may have experienced from the scheduling of the Holiday Mart Preview Party
on Yom Kippur. This unfortunate situation . was caused by a scheduling conflict
between Yom Kippur and the regularly scheduled weekend on which our event
has been held for the past 40 years. This is the first time that this conflict has
ever occurred.

Planned Parenthood was unable to reschedule this event in order to avoid
this conflict. Gratefully, neither Rosh Hashanah nor Yom Kippur will be
observed on this weekend for many years to come.

We hope you understand the confluence of Yom Kippur and the Planned
Parenthood Holiday Mart Preview Party was never intended.

Planned Parenthood of Southeast Michigan sincerely hopes that you will
attend our Holiday Mart for the next forty years and, most importantly, that
you accept our apology for this year's scheduling conflict and any resulting
offense to the Jewish community.

Sincerely,

William C. Rands III,
Board Chairperson
