"They were moved to a colder climate than where they had been and do not have the appropri- ate clothing. In addition, there are others in Israel who will benefit from these donations!' Needed items include gently worn, clean winter coats, jackets, sweaters, hats, gloves, pants, skirts and shirts. Shoes, socks and undergarments also are requested, but must be new. Also accepted will be small games, new stuffed animals, coloring books and crayons for Israeli children. The Torah Center is the local donation point for the clothing drive, which is spearheaded by the National Council of Young Israel in New York. •The cutoffpoint for contributions • is Tuesday, Dec. 20, "so we can ship them before Chanukah," Rabbi . Silberberg said. "We also are in need .of volunteers to help sort and pack the clothing before it is shipped,;' said Rae Sharfman of West Bloomfield, local organizer of the project. The donation container will be available 9 a.m.-noon and 5-9 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays and 9 a.m.-noon Fridays.
