Herbert Nathaniel Waze, 78,
of Scottsdale, AZ, passed
away November 28, 2005. He
was a devoted husband, a
loving father and an adoring
grandpa. He was a retired
entrepreneur from Detroit, MI
having built the largest tire dis-
tributor in Michigan and one of
the largest in the United States.
Herbert, a member of the Spirit
of.the Desert Congregation in
Scottsdale, AZ, was founder of
the Compassionate Friends
Organization of North America,
a member of the Palm Beach
Power Squadron, Treasurer of
the International Wine & Food
Club, and a member of the
Lunch and Learn Tourist Study
Group led by Rabbi Laib
Blotner. He was preceded in
death by son Michael Waze
and daughter Nancy Waze.
Survivors include wife Phyllis;
sons Nechemia Blavin
(Devorah), Paul Blavin (Amy);
daughters Marcy Waze Thorn
(Martin), Monet Waze Mindell
(Mordechai); sister Florence
Waze Fink (Dr. Jack); and 7
grandchildren; Sarah & Miles
Thorn, Leo & Lily Blavin, and
Yisroel, Shayna & Aaron
Mindell. Funeral services were
held Wednesday, November
30th in Phoenix. Contributions
in his memory are suggested
to Memorial Sloan Kettering.
