This summer, a planned hot air balloon ride over Oakland County's lakes area was can- celed because of poor weather. Instead, she was driven around the lakes' region in her son's auto. Mrs. Paul, who grew up in eastern New Jersey, said, "I still can't believe I'm 95. My friends have fallen by the wayside and I'm still here." When asked about her health, Mrs. Paul replied: "Kein ayn horah" (don't tempt the evil eye). .Although she uses a walker and wears a hearing aid, Mrs. Paul has no trouble getting around and interacting with friends at her Farmington Hills retirement complex. A widow for 26 years, she moved to Farmington Hills nearly seven years ago.
