A teacher with the Detroit pub- lic school system, she taught English at the Schultz Elementary School and the Hampton Middle School. She received her master's degree in guidance and counseling. She was also a union activist for Detroit Federation of Teachers, a member of Jewish Parents Institute and a life member of Pioneer Women. Mrs. Shubow is survived by sons and a daughter-in-law, Douglas Shubow of Southfield, Robert and Elisabeth Shubow of West Bloomfield; grandchil- dren, Julie and Randy Reizman, Jeremy Green, Jason Green, Jaimee and Frank Giammanco, Jennifer and James Sherman and Lauren Shubow; great- grandchildren, Samuel Reizman and Thomas Giammanco; brother, Morris Sokoloff of Southfield.
