Caring Partners Workshops for Family Caregivers ZOA Hears Anti-Terror Message Harry Kirsbaum Staff Writer n the night that the Zionist Organization of America Michigan Region honored ZOA supporters Harold and Barbara Beznos of Farmington Hills with the Justice Louis D. Brandeis Award, an Israeli counter-terrorism specialist reminded the crowd of 800 why its important never to waver in the fight against jihadists. "The level of threat that interna- tional terrorism poses today to the safety of the world is maybe incomparable to any other threat than we have experienced in modern times',' said Dr. Boaz Ganor, deputy dean at the Lauder School of Government at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism Dr. Boaz Ganor in Herzliyah."It's not just international terrorism, its Islamic radical glob- al terrorism, which has spread all over the world: from the Arab countries, the Muslim countries and the Third World countries, in the Western society and actually in the back yard of every state world wide. "These guys are not just terror- ists, they are well-trained, full- time experienced terrorists:' he said. "When your enemy has a dif- ferent rationality, you cannot com- municate with him, you cannot make concessions with him ... you cannot deter him:' "Israel is not the cause of the rise of Islamic radicalism. Israel is being attacked by being regarded by the Islamists as the long arm of Western society: he said."Israel, therefore, is the defender of Western society. "There is no tighter bond between being a Zionist and being an American patriot when we face the international threat of global jihadists." The Nov. 6 Balfour concert in Southfield also featured Israeli singer Zamira Chen, followed by Golem, a Yiddish-ldezmer band. 0 November 17 2005 Caring for a loved one with a memory disorder or Alzheimer's disease takes a lot of heart...and help.
