Christianity, Islam and
Buddhism" with a lecture at 8
p.m. on Thurs., Dec. 17, at the
synagogue.

and professor of Jewish law at
the Schechter Institute of
Jewish Studies in Jerusalem.

Congregation Shir Tikvah of
Troy \vas recently honored with
the Union of Reform Judaism's
award for outstanding adult
Jewish education programming.
CST garnered the award in
the medium-size congregation
category — those (with between
251 and 600 member families.
Each synagogue was required to
submit a one-page essay
describing its congregation as
one of learners and provide
examples of study opportuni-
ties, growth and change in adult
education offerings and future
goals. A panel from URJ's
Department of Lifelong
Learning evaluated the submis-
sions.
Award winners will be recog-
nized at its 2005 biennial in
Houston. They will receive URJ
press books, videos and CDs
appropriate for adult learners.
Shir Tikvah's second vice
president Erica Peresman is
scheduled to attend the event.
