Alphabet Soup," a free lecture open
to the public through Survivorship University, brings together

experts to answer questions about how and when to file for Social Security
Disability.
It will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Oak Park JCC. Current and former cancer
patients, their friends, families and caregivers are invited.
Cassandra Woods, state director for U.S. Sen. Carl Levin, D-Detroit; Rufus Gaston, public affairs spe-
cialist, Social Security Administration; and LaShawn Taylor, professional relations officer, Disability
Determinations Services, will offer advice and insight.
Survivorship University is a program designed to meet the communication and education needs of
cancer survivors, hosted by the Detroit-based Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. To register for
