School in Bloomfield Hills have
earned the designation of AP
Scholar by the College Board in
recognition of their exceptional
achievement on college level AP
exams.
Daniel Klein of Bloomfield
Hills was designated AP Scholar
with Distinction, earning an
average 3.5 on all AP exams
taken and 3 or higher on five or
more of the exams; Hanna Ketai
of West Bloomfield is designated
an AP Scholar with Honor, earn-
ing an average grade of at least
3.25 on all AP exams and 3 or
higher on four or more; Jacob
Hurwitz-Goodman of Detroit
was designated an AP Scholar, by
completing three or more AP
exams with grades of 3 or higher.
Adrienne Lenhoff-Wise of West
Bloomfield, president and owner
of Shazaaam! PR and marketing,
received and individual media
award from, the Detroit-based
Karmanos Cancer Institute. She
has provided pro bono public
relations work for the Komen
Detroit Race for the Cure for the
last three years, securing innova-
tive media coverage for the race
and creating new partnerships
with donors.

The photograph will hang on
permanent display in the Capitol
in Lansing.
Boris Milter of Oak Park, a
Berkley High School senior, is
one of 43 students in the nation
to be named a Russian Scholar
Laureate for 2005. The award is
presented by the American
Council of Teachers of Russian.
Mitler was involved in the essay
contest which asked pre-college
students to write, in Russian,
about their school. The essays of
the 43 laureates were sent to the
Pushkin Institute in Moscow for
further judging.

Carol Beth Subar Yoffee, a
graduate of the University of
Michigan and formerly of West
Bloomfield, is being honored
with the Halpern Young
Leadership Award by
Congregation Beth Shalom of
Pittsburgh, Pa. She is the daugh-
ter of Phyllis and Seymour Subar
of West Bloomfield.
Aaron Dworkin of Ypsilanti,
founder of the Sphinx
Organization, was recognized by
the National Governors
Association when he and the
organization were selected as
winners of the 2005
Distinguished Service to the
State Government in the arts cat-
egory. The organization encour-
ages, develops and recognizes
classical music talent in the black
and Latino communities and
among all youths.
Daniel M. Levy is the 2005
Tzadik Award recipient from the
Anti-Defamation League. Levy
has displayed his selflessness and
dedication to the ADL, where he
serves as treasurer and executive
board member
of the Michigan
Regional
Advisory Board
as well as the
development
chair and co-
chair of the
Civil Rights
Levy
Committee.
Levy-is an associate national
board member for the ADL. In
2003, the national board award-
ed him the Ginsberg National
Leadership Award.
Professionally, Levy is the
assistant attorney general for the
state of Michigan, where he is the
head of the Alcohol and
Gambling Criminal Section.

Rabbi Lee Buckman, headmas-
ter of the Jewish Academy of
Metropolitan Detroit, was one of
eight high school heads of school
and senior staff members from
the North American Association
of Jewish High. Schools partici-
pating in a three-day Masa semi-
nar in Israel. The seminar
explored study and volunteer
options in Israel for students
after high school.
