authOr Pearl S. Buck, author
of The Good Earth.
"All the history in Golda's
Balcony is very accessible:'
Harper says."It's not like a
lesson. It's just stated cleanly
and clearly with wonderful
leadership examples about
serving the people of her
country."
Schwartz also emphasizes
the importance of the ideas
communicated through the
dramatization.

"I hope there is a univer-
sal experience shared by
non-Jewish and Jewish
members of the audience as
they see a complicated
woman deal with complicat-
ed and very important
issues," the director
explains. "I think non-
Jewish members of the
audience will be moved by
the play, while Jewish mem-
bers of the audience will
find it more personal." 0

Golda's Balcony runs Nov. 8-27 at the Fisher Theatre.
Performance times are 8 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays, 2 p.m.
Saturdays and Sundays and 7:30 p.m. Sundays. There
