He is the grandchild of Robert and Carlson Doreen Lowenthal and the late Elaine Lowenthal. Blake is a seventh-grader at Cranbrook Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. His most mean- ingful mitzvah project involved making bandanas for the Humane Society. Jacob Benjamin Dresser (Yaacov Binyamin Shmuel) will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah Saturday, Nov. 5, at a twilight Havdalah at Temple Israel in Bay City. He is the son of Marilyn (Gordon) and Richard Dresser Dresser, for- merly of Southfield. He is the grandson of Esther Duchin Dresser of Farmington Hills, the late Joseph Benjamin Dresser, the late Belle Bateman Gordon, the late Sanford Nathaniel Gordon. His big sister Samantha and little brother Mischa will participate in the service, which will be led by his uncle, Rabbi Jonathan Rosenbaum. Jacob is a student at Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy and Bay County Public School Academy Middle School. His mitzvah project is handcrafting gift items for pediatric cancer patients at Mott Children's Hospital in Flint to honor his brother's five-year remission anniversary. Halley Jessica Farber will be called to the Torah as a bat mitz- vah Saturday, Nov. 5, at Congregation Beth Ahm. She is the daughter of Jill and David Farber and sister of Amanda and Justin. Her proud grandparents are Lois and Nat Fishman of West Bloomfield and Audrey and Bill Farber of Franklin. Great-grand- Farber mother is Doris Farber. Halley attended Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills and is now attending Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield. Her mitzvah projects included work- ing at Yad Ezra in Berkley. Jessica Meghan Goodman (Miriam) will read from the Torah as a bat mitzvah Saturday, Nov. 5, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek West Bloom- Goodman field, B'nai Israel Center. Participating in the service will be her parents, Jodi and Rob Goodman; sisters, Rachel and Emily; and grandpar- ents Mae and Milton Goodman, Sandy and Terry Grosslight. Jessica is a student at Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in Farmington Hills. Her mitzvah projects include collect- ing books and working at Bookstock Used Book and Media Sale. Brittany Shannen Lutren, daughter of Tammy and Robert Lutren and sis- ter of Jordan, will be called to the bimah to celebrate her bat mitzvah Saturday, Nov. 5, at Temple Lutren Israel. She is the grandchild of Jean Lutren, the late David Lutren and the late Shirley and Hyman Cash.
