DETROIT JEWISH NEW'S

of New York, died Aug. 7, 2005. He
was born in Austria into a musical
family and began his music stud-
ies at age 7 with his father Jacob, a
professional violinist.
As a violinist, he performed
with the Pittsburgh, Detroit and
Chicago symphonies before his
lifetime career of 48 years with
the New York
Philharmonic.
He is a gradu-
ate of
Columbia
University
with a bache-
lor of arts in
history and a
Weiner
master's in
history from
Queens College.
Mr. Weiner is survived by his
beloved wife of 60 years,
Carolyn; son, David of N.Y.;
daughter, Shelly (Patrick)
Flannery of N.Y.; sister, Mollie
Cohen of Southfield; brothers,
Charles (Inge) of Boca Raton,
Hiam (Paula) of Los Angeles.

THE IRA KAUFMAN CHAPEL

died Sept. 28, 2005. A previous
secretary for Rabbi Fram, she
also worked for B'nai B'rith as a
volunteer. She was a life member
and charter member of the
Morganthau chapter of Jewish
Women's International.
Mrs. Zucker is survived by her
daughter and son-in-law,
Michelle and Robert Borin of
Manton, Mich.; grandchildren,
Evan and Ashley Borin; sisters,
Frances Salem of Willowdale,
Ontario, and Miriam Rossman of
West Bloomfield. She was the
beloved wife of the late Harold
Zuker; devoted sister of the late
Sadie Krangle.
Interment at Beth Abraham
Cemetery. Contributions may be
made to the Holocaust Memorial
Center, 28123 Orchard Lake
Road, Farmington Hills, MI
48334. Arrangements by Ira
Kaufman Chapel.
