CREATIVE INTERNS
Positions are available in a very creative, busy
production group. If you are interested in
learning about the publishing business, and
enjoy a fast-paced environment, we are look-
ing for you! These positions would be respon-
sible for processing and flight-checking
advertiser artwork,proofreading and digital
archiving. Knowledge of Quark and
Photoshop helpful. These part-time positions

GRAPHIC DESIGNERS
Looking for talented and creative graphic
designers for contract work. Projects involve
custom publishing design and editorial lay-
outs for the Detroit Jewish News and its other
products including Platinum, JRM Research,
Data and Marketing, and custom publishing.
Has a working knowledge of pre-press
requirements as well as an eye for detail,
quality and ability to meet deadlines.
Working knowledge of all versions Quark,
Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, InDesign and

Assistant Director, Federation's Alliance
for Jewish Education
The Assistant Director of the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's Alliance for Jewish Education will be
involved with a bold agenda of strategies to advance Jewish
education in the Metropolitan Detroit area.
Responsibilities:
• Develops professional development opportunities for teach-
ers of the supplementary schools;
• Creates master teacher's program;
• Works with the Educational Directors and develops
professional development opportunities
• Supervises Special Education services;
• Supervises Adult Education services;
• Maintains contact with Federation, synagogues, and local
agencies to expand educational resources in the community.
Qualifications:
• Baccalaureate degree in teaching and/or Jewish Studies,
education or equivalent field; a master's degree preferred;
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Jewish education
related field;
• Minimum of 3 years administrative experience;
• Demonstrated personal commitment to Jewish learning,
Jewish education, Israel education and the Jewish
community;
• Experienced training and mentoring of staff and lay leader-
ship;
• Demonstrated ability to develop and responsibly
manage budgets.
Skills & Abilities:
Well-rounded knowledge of and familiarity with Jewish life,
texts, values, history, holidays, Israel, etc
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
