Day of Support, Friendship

Women who have experienced cancer,
along with their friends and family
members, are invited to "Just for You,"
a free support and educational pro-
gram on Friday, Oct. 7, at Edgewood
Country Club in Commerce.
Healthcare professionals from the
Natalie and Manny Charach Cancer
Treatment Center at Huron Valley-
Sinai Hospital (HVSH) will provide
insight about a variety of related top-
ics. The Center is part of the Detroit-
based Karmanos Cancer Institute.
The medical experts panel will
include Kimberly Hart of Bloomfield
Hills, clinical chief of Radiation
Oncology at HVSH; Kristine Duffy of
Farmington Hills, an obstetrician-
gynecologist; and Linda Miller of
Wixom, a women's health nurse prac-
titioner. Christine T. Wade of Pontiac,
an obstetrician-gynecologist, will speak
about hormone replacement therapy.
Cheryl A. Woods, a certified mas-
sage therapist, will discuss relaxation
techniques and massage. The event is
free.
"Just for You" will offer massages,
makeovers, a continental breakfast,
lunch and gifts from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Rabbi David Saperstein, director of
the Religious Action Center of Reform
Judaism, will be the speaker at the
Institute for Retired Professionals'
annual fall lecture 7:30 pin. Thursday,
Oct. 6, at the Jewish Community
Center in West Bloomfield. His topic
will be "Will the Wall Come
Tumbling Down: The Jewish Stake in
the Preservation of the Separation of
Church and State."
The lecture is underwritten by a
gift from Shirley Harris and is open to

Rabbi Saperstein has appeared on
television news and talk shows. He co-
chairs the Coalition to Preserve
Religious Liberty. An attorney, he
teaches seminars in both First
Amendment Church-State Law and in
