He owned 72 paint stores throughout Michigan, Northern Ohio and Western New York. He went into his father's paint business in 1946 after graduating from the University of Illinois. In 1957, he opened the first retail . Victor Paint Store and over the next five years opened 72 more. He took the company public in 1961 and sold it in 1962 to the company that became Resorts International. In 1964, Mr. Victor rescued Robinson Furniture Company from bankruptcy, taking it public in 1968 and selling it to management in 1972. In 1974, he regained ownership of Klingman Furniture Company, for- merly a division of Robinson and the premier home furnishing store in Grand Rapids, which he managed until his death. In 1978, he and his wife moved to California, residing
