She was a 1970 graduate of Oak Park High School and went on to receive a bachelor of arts with honors from Michigan State as well as a master of fine arts in creative writing and a master of arts in American studies from Bowling Green University in Ohio. Mrs. Hollander then taught at Lowell and Bentley colleges in Boston in addition to creating a line of greet- ing cards with her own artwork. Moving back to Detroit in 1991, she taught at Oakland Community College, where she continued to work up until -a month before her death. While at OCC, she organized a yearly writers' workshop for aspiring writers. She was an active member of the Birmingham Temple and their Family of Women group. Mrs. Hollander is survived by her son, Gabriel Narrett of Novi; mother, Bobby Hollander; brothers and sister- in-law, Loren and Laura Hollander of Oak Park, Dale Hollander of Hollander Southfield; nieces, Lindsay Hollander, Allison Hollander and Stephanie Hollander.
