Busines Prefessio I BY THE CASE from page 85 What's Inside Long before they ever even looked at opening the Kosher Case Club, the Shears spent hours at other bulk-food shops and grocery stores, deciding what worked and what didn't. "We walked through a lot of stores," Miriam says, "and we weren't looking for produce. We were looking at the lighting." The mother of two young chil- dren herself, Miriam wanted more than just food in her store. "I want- ed a place I would feel comfortable in," she says. "So there's a bathroom — a clean bathroom — and a nurs- ing station. There will be wide aisles so you can get through easily, and large shopping carts to carry every- thing." . The Shears also wanted confi- dence in every food product on the shelves, so all the food in Kosher Case Club bears a heksher approved by the Council of Orthodox Rabbis. Located in the former Dinser's Florist Shop, on Greenfield south of Lincoln, the Kosher Case Club will feature a diverse collection of food items, from the popular Buitoni's pasta to Kedem Grape Juice. A 64 oz. bottle of grape juice that sells for $7 at other stores in Metro Detroit would cost $3.99 when purchased in a case of eight for $31.92. The store will offer meat and cheese, fish, fresh and frozen poultry, flow- ers and paper goods. There will be pasta, rice, fish sticks and waffles, and plenty of products from Israel. Though the store will not sell bulk candy or wine, it will sell fresh-baked goods from Zeman's. More benefits for customers include online ordering at www.koshercaseclub.com and free delivery throughout most of Metro Detroit on orders more than $75. 0 THE JEWISH ACADEMY OPEN HOUSE Join Us Wednesday, September 28, And Discover A High School Where...
