Israel Advocacy Training

Stuart Schoffman, the Anti-
Defamation League's Koppelman
scholar in residence, is the featured
speaker at an Israel advocacy training
breakfast cosponsored by the ADL,
American Jewish Committee and
Jewish Community Council of
Metropolitan Detroit on Wednesday,
Sept. 28, at the Max M. Fisher
Federation Building.
Schoffman is an associate editor and
columnist at the Jerusalem Report. He
writes a monthly column about Israel
for American Jewish newspapers and
is a research fellow at the Shalom
Hartman Institute in Jerusalem.
The 7:45 a.m. breakfast is open to
the community at no charge, but a
commitment to participate in the new
Israel Advocates program is required.
The ADL, AJC and Council hope to
recruit and train, informed volunteers
for a community media response
team.
Hour-long breakfast workshops will
be offered through next year to pre-
pare participants to communicate
with news media professionals and
speak to community audiences. All
briefings will be held at the Max M.
Fisher Federation Building,
Bloomfield Township. To sign up, call
(243) 646-7686.
