"The Jews don't speak up as much
as they should, so I will speak up,"
says Shoebat. "Israel is a small state
and the Muslim world is a giant.
Nevertheless, if we, the Zionists, stand
strong, then we will prevail. I am sure
that we will win.
"Believe it or not, I know my pros
and cons; I know my downfalls,"
Shoebat says, acknowledging that his
message would be better received by
some if it were not connected to the
Bible and be more hopeful about
peace and human nature.
"We have to be honest as human
beings. We can't be salesman," he says.
"If I gave the political line, I would be
more popular, but I'm speaking out of
my heart. But once you start sharing a
verse from [the Prophets] Jeremiah or
Joel, I always see a few people walking
out."
"You can't please everybody,"
Shoebat says. "We have to do what we
believe, and as Christians we believe
this land has been given to the Jewish
people." ❑
