ISAAC SARAQUSE, 87, former Detroiter of Lansing, died Aug. 24, 2005. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. She was born in Belgium and came to the United States from England with her husband, Alfred, in 1967. They were both sworn in as citizens by former President Ronald Reagan. During her years in London, she vol- unteered for Meals on Wheels and the Women's Division of the Free Masons. She also assisted young children into air raid shelters during the bombing of London during World War II. Upon her arrival in Michigan, she became involved in Stebbins Hadassah, United Order of True Sisters, Child Rescue, reading for the blind and Women's American ORT, where she worked at the ClothespORT resale shop for over 20 years. HELEN FREID SILVERMAN, 91, of West Bloomfield, died Aug. 22, 2005.
