Skip Rosenthal with his familiar banjo
dren, said the shop is "a great little book-
store and very homey. I don't like the big
bookstores."
She added she also enjoys the small
town atmosphere of downtown
Farmington.
Echoing her comments was Annette
Droelle, 41, of Farmington, and the
mother of three, who added that she
loves old books. Thumbing through a
1916 book of children's verses, she
admitted that "it will be strange not hav-
ing it [the bookstore] and Skip playing
the banjo [on the sidewalk outside the
store]."
During the last weeks of business,
Skip will sell its inventory at discounts of
up to 60 percent. Anything left over will
be donated to libraries which would
them sell them to patrons.
What will he miss the most when the
store closes? "The books and the peo-
ple," he replied without hesitation.
Among those 35,000 books are 1,000
dealing with the history of printing.
In the meantime, Skip will turn the
pages of his life and enjoy the new
rhythm of his life.
Our Eastern Michigan team just got stronger with
the addition of four outstanding executives.
We're proud to have them on our team and
they're committed to working hard for you
