Women's Day To Learn

The Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit will hold its fifth
annual Women's Day
of Learning Sunday,
Sept. 25, from 1 to
4:15 p.m. at Yeshivat
Akiva, 21100 W. 12
Mile Road,
Southfield.
Titled "Women
Who Dare," the pro-
gram will bring
Rosenblatt
together Jewish women
from the Metro Detroit
community for a day of study, discus-
sion and camaraderie.
The keynote speaker for the program
will be Naomi Harris Rosenblatt,
Washington, D.C., psychotherapist,
teacher and author of Wrestling with

Angels: What Genesis Teachers Us about
Our Spiritual Identity Sexuality and
Personal Relationships and a new book,
published in March 2005, titled After
the Apple: Women in the Bible, Timeless
Stories of Love, Lust and Longing. Her
topic for the Women's Day of Learning
will be "The Biblical Heroines as Role
Models for the 21st century."
Immediately following the program,
there will be opportunities to explore

topics of interest in a choice of seven
breakout sessions scheduled at 2:30
p.m. and repeated at 3:35 p.m.
Rosenblatt will conduct a session titled
"How to Raise a Jewish Child in a
Secular Culture."
liana Blumberg, master teacher from
Ann Arbor, will lead a discussion on
"Mothers and Daughters with a
Mission: Female Generations in
Genesis and Exodus."
