ZOA Gives Brandeis Award

The Zionist Organization of America
will present the Justice Louis D.
Brandeis Award, the local organiza-
tion's highest citation of merit, to
Harold and Barbara Beznos for dedi-
cated service to Israel, the Jewish peo-
ple and the community.
The award presentation will high-
light the ZOIs annual Balfour
Celebration Concert Sunday evening,
Nov. 6, at the Millennium Theatre
Center in Southfield. The concert will
feature the Israeli singing star Zamira
Chenn and the New York klezmer
group Golem.
Harold Beznos is a businessman,
real estate developer and builder. He is
a past member of the Israeli Bond
National Planning Board, a past chair-
man of the Greater Metropolitan
Detroit State Bonds, the recipient of
the 1983 Man of the Year Award of
the local Council of the Orthodox
Rabbis, recipient of the 1989 Golden
Torah Award from the Southfield-
based Yeshiva Beth Yehudah, and a
past member of the Yeshiva board and
the local Holocaust Memorial Center
board.
Barbara Beznos is the founder,
owner and head dietitian-nutritionist
of Integrated Nutrition, a counseling
firm in Farmington Hills. She is a
member of the American Dietetic
Association and various dietetic prac-
tice groups.
Patrons who contribute $360 will
receive two tickets to the concert, with
preferred seating, as well as a listing in
the souvenir program book and an
invitation to the Tribute Committee
Brunch at the Franklin Hills Country
Club.
