Vegas, Nev., died July 30, 2005.
He is survived by his beloved wife,

was a teacher.

July 26, 2005.
She is survived by her nieces, Paula

MAX SOMBERG, 93, of West

Bloomfield, died July 30, 2005. A
owner of Somberg-Berlin Metals, he
was a partner with Ben Berlin. As a
longtime member of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek, he was an usher for

services, a leader of
the choir and he par-
ticipated in services
when the cantor was
unavailable. He was
also a member of
Congregation
Shaarey Zedek's
Men's Club.
Somberg
Mr. Somberg is
survived by his son,
Marty Somberg of Ann Arbor. He was
the beloved husband of the late Belle
Somberg; devoted father of the late
Lenny Somberg.

PHILLIP T. WARREN, 75, former

Detroiter of Boca Raton, Fla., and
Miami, Fla., died July 25, 2005.
He is survived by his beloved
fiancee, Marilynn (Mickey) Mato;

DR. BENNIE ZAK, 85, of West

Bloomfield, died July 29, 2005. He
was professor emeritus at Wayne State
University School of Medicine, where
he taught for over 50 years. He was an
officer in the Air Force in World War
II and a POW for 15 months after
being shot down over Germany.
Dr. Zak is survived by his beloved
wife of nearly 59 years, Doris Zak; son
and daughter-in-law, Steven and Jackie
Zak of Sunland,
Calif.; daughters and
son-in-law, Deborah
