As a longtime member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek, he was an usher for services, a leader of the choir and he par- ticipated in services when the cantor was unavailable. He was also a member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek's Men's Club. Somberg Mr. Somberg is survived by his son, Marty Somberg of Ann Arbor. He was professor emeritus at Wayne State University School of Medicine, where he taught for over 50 years. He was an officer in the Air Force in World War II and a POW for 15 months after being shot down over Germany.
