"I was looking to get into a new
condo and we found exactly what we
were looking for at that time," Kamin
says of her family's move to the area.
"Every time something would come
in, we would get excited though I
don't know why because with it
would come more people. I remember
looking out the window and I could
see the trees dropping."
But the development also meant -
improved schools, a new library, great
shopping and a Jewish community.
"I remember a time when people
would not send their kids to the
Walled Lake schools, and there was
no Costco, no Target, no anything,"
Kamin says. "Now we've added a
whole different level to our school sys-
tem and there is so much going on
out here. There are a lot of Jewish
people living in the condos and some
[complexes] seem to be half Jewish."
"It's great out here, we love it. The
nature preserves, Berry Lake, Walled
Lake Beach and the nature trails.
We've got to be sure to keep nice
pockets of green like in West
Bloomfield." ❑
