Shul Elects New Board

Rub-A-DubFor ORT

Rabbi Elliot Pachter of Congregation
B'nai Moshe installed its newly elect-
ed president, Ellen Kotler, during
Shabbat services on Saturday, June 11.
Kotler had served previously as vice
president and treasurer of the congre-
gation. She has chaired and/or partici-
pated in the preparation of the shul's
budget and monitoring system. In
addition to these roles, she has served
on various synagogue committees.
Also installed as vice presidents were
Kerry Greenhut, Alisa Peskin
Shepherd and Douglas Zack; as treas-
urer, Dan Sperling; as recording secre-
tary, Naomi Pinchuk; as financial sec-
retary, Ellyce Field.
Elected and installed as members of
the board of directors were Dennis
Blender, Donald Cohen, Steven Fine,
Larry Glanz, Michael Liebowitz,
Steven Mondrow, Elissa Paul, Ruth
Shayne and Steven Sperling.

speaking discussion group

will include current events, articles
from the Israeli press and topics of
interest to the members of the group.

Lecture Series Videos

As part of its year-round free weekly
video series, "Cine-Moshe: Yom
Sheini (Monday) at the Movies,"
Congregation B'nai Moshe's Kolel
Moshe Institute for Lifelong Jewish
Learning will launch a video replay
Monday, Aug. 1, of a four-part lecture
series by Professor Howard N.
Lupovitch titled "To The Edge of
Destruction and Back: Hungarian
Jewry in the 20th Century."
The videos will be shown every
Monday at noon thru Aug. 22. Each

program lasts 90 minutes.
Session dates and topics for the
video replay are: Aug. 1 — "Part 1,
Between the Wars: The Storm after
the Calm, 1918-1938"; Aug. 8 —
"Part 2, The Holocaust in Hungary
and its Aftermath, 1938-1948"; Aug.
15 —"Part 3, Behind the Iron
Curtain, 1948-1990"; and Aug. 22 —
"Part 4, Rebirth and Revival, 1990 to
Today."
"Yom Sheini at the Movies" is a
free, drop-in series that takes place
every Monday at the West Bloomfield
synagogue except on legal holidays
and Jewish holidays.
