Bruxism, commonly known as tooth grinding usually occurs while the youngster is sleeping. Children are most prone to grinding their teeth between the ages of 2 and 3, when the last of their primary teeth come in, and between ages of 9 and 12, when the last of their permanent teeth are erupting.
