oward Freeman and Aleza
Goldsmith were recently
married at the Paiute Indian
Golf Resort in Las Vegas, Nev. The
wedding was officiated by Rabbi Mel
Hecht.
Howard is the son of Lois Freeman
of Oak Park and the late Earl
Freeman. Aleza is the daughter of
Harold and Naomi Goldsmith of
Henderson, Nev.
Aleza's matrons of honor were Stacy
Campbell and Jennifer Northcutt.
The bridesmaids were Marci Bean,
Mia Goldsmith and Kate Harris.
Junior bridesmaid was Amanda Bean;
the flower girl was Anna Northcutt.
Jason Scott served as best man.
Groomsman were Stephen Bean,
Edward Friedman, Josh Smith,
Sydney Reyes, Michah and Jonathan
Goldsmith. The junior groomsman
was Matthew Bean.
Howard and Aleza were honored to
have their grandparents Esther
Freeman, Dan and Jean Overbach and
Leo Michelson participate in the cere-

mony. They were married under a
chuppah, a gift from grandparents
Dan and Jean Overbach, that was
handmade with photographs from six
generations of their families.
Howard and Aleza honeymooned in
New Orleans and on a cruise. They
will reside in Henderson.

arcel and Shirley Behar cel-
ebrated their 50th wedding
anniversary at two events.
On June 23, Shirley received the
Woman of Valor Award from Keter
Torah Synagogue in West Bloomfield
at its annual dinner, and on June 25
at a brunch following services at Keter
Torah Synagogue. Proud children are
Dr. Marc Behar of New Orleans, La.,
Jerome and Dr. Leslie Behar of Los
Altos, Calif, Ricky and Nigist (Tigi)
Behar of Farmington Hills and Lisa
Behar of San Francisco. Excited
grandchildren Joseph, Jacob, Daniel
and Nissim Behar will honor their
nono and nona at a special celebra-
tion. The Behars, formerly of
Southfield, now live in Laguna •
Woods, Calif, where Shirley is coordi-
nating the Sephardic Community of

Orange County; Marcel frequently
lectures on Middle East subjects and
Jews from exotic lands.
