BBs and weight gain, be
aware that some under-the-radar
factors can be contributing to your
weight gain.
For example, as part of the
+ normal aging process, adults
typically lose on average
about 2 to 3% oflean body

mass per decade of life.
Lean muscle mass is an
important contributor to
an increased metabolic
(i.e., calorie-burning)
rate. It is estimated that
each additional pound of
lean muscle can result in
the burning of an extra 50
calories a day.
Jim, perhaps you should consider
weight-training designed to add
muscle mass. Also, take a serious
inventory and try to reduce stress
in your life wherever practicable.
