SAUL GREENFIELD, 79, of

Farmington Hills, died June 15,
2005. During college, he was a 40-
foot platform
diver for the
Wayne State div-
ing team. He
received his mas-
ter's from Wayne
State in special
education. A vet-
eran of World
War II, he
received a Purple
Greenfield
Heart and two
bronze stars.
Previously, he had
been a grocery clerk, a meat cutter, a
shoe salesman and had worked for a
building contractor. He then worked
with the Detroit Board of Education
as a teacher for 30 years and then as
an assistant principal for over seven
years.
Mr. Greenfield started Career Day
in the Detroit school systems and
also created the "Our Family" TV
program in 1957. Following his
career in education, he became an
operation manager for Highland
Appliance.
Mr. Greenfield is survived by his
wife of 57 years, Mildred "Mickey"
Greenfield; son and daughter-in-law,
Gary and Naomi Greenfield of Saint
Geneviere, Mo.; daughter and son-
in-law, Gail and Ira Mondry of
Franklin; grandsons, Aaron, Jacob
and Nathan Mondry; brother and
sister-in-law, Henry Greenfield and
Laura Jones of Maryland. He was the
beloved brother of the late Faye
Meyer and the late Jack Greenfield.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.
