Single-Parent Camp Set

AJC Slate Announced

Single parents with children 15 years
and younger are invited to attend the
Single Jewish Parents Network annual
Single Parent Family Camp Sunday,
July 31-Thursday, Aug. 4, at the
Butzel Conference Center in
Ortonville.
The retreat is designed to provide an
opportunity for single Jewish parents
to network as well as relax, to
strengthen family bonds and to enrich
Jewish family life. Activities will
include boating, horseback riding,
rock climbing, hiking, family sports,
campfires, and arts and crafts.
Space is available at Butzel, which
can accommodate up to 19 families,
each with their own room with a pri-
vate bathroom and shower.
Single Parent Family Camp is made

filled out its leadership roster here in
Metro Detroit.
Elected to serve on the Metropolitan
Detroit Chapter's executive committee
for the programming year commenc-
ing July 1, 2005 through June 30,
2006 are: chapter president, Andrew
S. Doctoroff; vice presidents, Robert
D. Gordon, Alyssa Martina, Frederick
H. Marx, Judith Greenstone Miller,
James S. Rosenfeld, Jerald Rosenfeld,
Joshua Yaker; treasurer, Jay B. Knoll;
secretary, Todd Mendel. They will
serve for a one- year term.
Newly elected general board mem-

A tour of Jewish Toronto will be the
highlight of a July 31-Aug. 2 Ontario
trip organized by Congregation B'nai
Moshe. Participants will leave by
deluxe motor coach on Sunday morn-
ing and arrive for lunch in Toronto,
home to a Jewish community of
175,000. A cruise in the harbor will
highlight the afternoon's entertain-
ment.
Monday will be devoted to touring
Jewish sites. Tuesday will feature addi-
tional sightseeing in Stratford (theater
optional) followed by dinner in Port
Huron before returning to West
Bloomfield.
Cost for the trip is $250 U.S. per
person (double occupancy) and
includes two nights at the Dodge
Suites Hotel (with breakfast), trans-
portation and the Jewish Toronto tour.
All other meals (kosher restaurants will
be visited), harbor cruise and Stratford
Theatre (Hello Dolly!, The Brothers
Karamazov or Cat on a Hot Tin Roof)
are extra.
Reservations and $100 non-refund-
able deposit must be received by June

During the chapter's annual meeting
on June 8, Chapter President Andrew
Doctoroff appointed Robert Benyas to
the position of honorary board mem-
ber and thanked him for his generosity
through the years as the chapter's offi-
cial photographer. Doctoroff also
acknowledged the chapter's advisory
committee members, who are appoint-
ed by the chapter president annually,
and thanked them for agreeing to
serve in the coming program year.
