I have been away from the Detroit
area for 25 years but still receive and
enjoy reading the Jewish News each
week (of course, from back to front).
As a person who grew up and
whose family was active at Beth
Abraham in the late 1940s to 1960s,
I was very pleased
to read the beau-
tiful series of arti-
cles presenting
the positive future
for Congregation

with Beth Abraham in 1949, suc-
ceeding the chief Orthodox rabbi of
the community, Joseph Thumin.

Not included in the article was
One Stop Kosher Market. In addi-
tion to having Borenstein's and
Zeman's, Oak Park is a wonderful
place for Jews to shop without any
worry about something being
kosher. One Stop is tremendously
helpful when Passover shopping. It
creates a wonderful feeling when
one goes shopping and hears Jewish
music in the background and seeing
fellow Jews everywhere you turn.
This store was a great addition to
Oak Park residents and all Jewish
people.
I agree that one of the best parts
of living here is when I am walking
home from Shabbos services and
getting Good Shabbos greetings.
