A Fast Operator Hospital surgery assignment connects couple. LEONARD POGER Copy Editor D r. David Edelman, a surgery resident at Detroit Receiving Hospital, met nurse Nichole Stephens at work. It wasn't during lunch in the hospital cafeteria or while discussing a patient's condition. Their first contact was during urological surgery. After surgery ended, Dr. Edelman, 27, made a joke to her and she joked back. "That was the ice breaker," he said. He soon asked other nurses about Stephens, found out she was single and phoned her several days later for a date. "Her Outgoing personality was what attracted me," Edelman said of Stephens, who was then a nursing student at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. Their first date was dinner and dancing at a Southfield restaurant. . ANSMIMV:Mtt April 22 Mary Jane (Northrop) and Fred Weiss are very happy to announce the arrival of Audrey Ellis.
