students from Hillel of Metro
Detroit. They threw a Can Carnival at
Yad Ezra on Sunday to prove the
point, raising $800 for the kosher
food bank in Berkley. Participants also
brought in hundreds of pounds of
food for Yad Ezra's shelves. The Can
Carnival was the idea of Wayne State
student Leah Mondroe of Oak Park.
She and the other HMD students
have been volunteering monthly at
Yad Ezra since last fall.
