FREEDOM, EDUCATION AND
OPPORTUNITY FOR WOMEN

THANK YOU, FIRST LADY LAURA BUSH

For too long, women in the Middle
East have been treated as second-class
citizens or worse. First Lady Laura
Bush has had the courage to take a stand.

In fact, she has done more to further
the cause of freedom and opportunity
for women than any other first lady in
American history.

From Afghanistan to Jordan to
Egypt, Laura Bush has led the cause
to provide women with a better
education, more economic oppor-
tunity and greater inclusion in the
political process.

Like many others, Laura Bush knows
that peace can only be achieved in a
land where freedom and opportunity
are more than just a dream.

We salute her for her work.
