Cranbrook Art Museum celebrates
its 75th anniversary and the beginning
of summer with architectural tours,
theater performances, live music, a
scavenger hunt for kids and birthday
cake 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, June 5.
Architectural tours around
Cranbrook's West Campus in
Bloomfield Hills will be conducted 11
a.m.-4 p.m.; a "World Music Tour"
with Guy Louis and the Chautauqua
Express will be presented 1 p.m. on
the Plaza; a Sculpture Scavenger Hunt
for families with young children will
be held 1-4 p.m.; and an avant-garde
theater performance by Nataliya
Kiusid takes place in the de Salle
Auditorium at 3 p.m.
The museum's newest exhibits, run-
ning June 4-Sept. 25, focus on archi-
tecture. "Building Connections:

Time. It
features
"has-been"
musical acts
competing
for the stu-
dio audi-
ence's votes.
Based on
a British
series, the
Doug Fieger
show has
rather hastily
been put on
the air and, as of press time, NBC
had not announced the full line-up
for the June 9 and 16 episodes.
However, the Knack, led by former
Oak Parker DOUG FIEGER (son of
a Jewish father and non-Jewish
mother), will appear on one of those
two dates.
Fieger will sing the band's signa-
ture song, "My Sharona," which is
about Fieger's Jewish ex-fiancee. On

Architectural Dialogues with the
Collection of Cranbrook Art
Museum" presents a survey of archi-
tectural visions from the 19th century
to the present, with a particular
emphasis on modern and contempo-
rary work. "Living Light on the Land:
Prototypes for Sustainable
Architecture and Design" presents
avant-garde projects of five artists and
architects contributing to the field of
"green" architecture and design —
from a section of a house made from
recycled printing plates to products
made by a community of native
Americans living in Argentina.
In addition, from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Friday, June 3, legendary Detroit pho-
tographer Balthazar Korab signs copies
of Genius Loci: The Photography of
Balthazar Korab, which captures the
spirit of Cranbrook through more
than 135 photographs recorded over
the last 50 years.
Museum hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Wednesdays-SUndays, fourth Friday of
each month 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Free for
members/$6 for adults/$4 for seniors,

his Web site, Fieger notes that inter-
est in the song recently spiked when
the New York Times disclosed that
President Bush has "My Sharona"
loaded on his iPod.
The Washington Post, noting the
song's rather suggestive lyrics, sug-
gested to Fieger that perhaps the
president thought the song was
about Israeli Prime Minister

ARIEL SHARON.
"It's possible, Feiger replied, not-
ing that he is still friends with his
ex, now a real estate agent in
California.- "Sharona is actually a
Hebrew name. Sharona is a good
Jewish girl. And the Knack is a
good Jewish band."
By the way, the re-formed Knack
is touring again and will open for
the Raspberries, big hitmakers in
the '70s, at Cleveland's Stone
Pavilion on July 25. The
Raspberries are lead by ERIC CAR-
MEN, another . Jewish rocker. [1]
