Installing officers Diane Klein of Southfield and Susan Yorke of West Bloomfield announced the executive officers. Named were president, Susan Luria of Bloomfield Hills; president- elect, Judi Schram of West Bloomfield; VP, communications and marketing, RONIT Meredith Weston- PINTO Band of Columnist Huntington Woods. Also named were VP, community service, Nancy Bechek Bluth; VP, education, Nancy Finkel; VP, fund-raising, Joan Chernoff Epstein; recording secretary, Sharon Fishman; member at large, Elaine Sturman; and VP, program- ming, Cathy Slavik, all of Bloomfield Hills. In addition, VP membership, Beverly Fine; VP organization, Lauren Bruss; and treasurer, Renee May, all of West Bloomfield. Fine received the National Leadership Award. Band was named Woman of the Year for her volunteer work. Francine Hack of Birmingham received the Love of a Lifetime chap- ter for demonstrating her love and commitment to Israel and the Jewish people. The May 19 event honored all multigenerational life members. Archives leader Shirley Shultz of Southfield created the Legacy of Multi-Generation Lifetime Membership Boards that stood in the West Bloomfield synagogue's entry, where she taped photos of multigener- ational lifetime members with ages and names. Past president Beverly Cohen of Southfield is the second of three gen- erations of lifetime members. Established in 1912, Hadassah is a volunteer women's organization pro- moting the unity and continuity of the Jewish people both in the United States and abroad. The outgoing VP for education, Zieva Konvisser of Orchard Lake is the second of four generations of life- time members. Her 4-month-old granddaughter is already a life mem- ber. "Hadassah is Israel and Israel is Hadassah," she said, referring to the many Israeli health care, education and youth institutions that Hadassah supports. "The medical work and teaching of Zionism to people who otherwise wouldn't be exposed are so important as well," added past-president Arline Gould of West Bloomfield.
