THE FOOT CARE INSIITUTE OF MICHIGAN Char es R. Young, D.P.M. Marshall G. Solomon, D.P.M. Is pleased to introduce Dr. Jeffrey Y . As a Partner on Our Board-Certified Specialty Team Hope, where an average of 40 people are seen each week. In the last week, Dana has received phone calls from two patients in dire need of a physician. "Somebody gave them our name and we had to turn them down and recom- mend another clinic," she said. "It broke my heart." When it re-opens, the clinic will have five examination rooms, a pharmacy and a dental suite. So far, the clinic has received a $50,000 grant from Blue Cross Blue Shield, which is Goy Burnstein giving $1 million to free clinics in Michigan, and $20,000 from Beaumont Hospital, said Dana, and they are working on getting a grant from the Jewish Fund. More physicians are needed to keep the clinic open more than one or two days a week. Her late husband did what he did because "it was the right thing to do, not because he wanted any recogni- tion," Dana said. "So seeing that name on the outside of the building would drive him crazy." The Rev. Clark is thrilled the family is so involved. "This was Gary's dream — having this clinic for the unin- sured," he said. "To have the family step forward and actually take charge just moved it to a whole new level. "With the help of the family, it's going to take it to where Gary envi- sioned it, which is serving the masses." Although the golf outing is sold out, tickets are still available for the May 25 dinner. For tickets or to volunteers at the clinic, con- tact Michelle Atwell, (248) 334- 2187, or at wellm@gracecenterofhope.org . With his bequest of $500,000 to the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, Prinstein placed his trust in the communal process of finding the perfect home for his gift. Working with Prinstein's family, Federation identified Prinstein an opportunity in January when the community opened its doors to the Sally and Graham Orley and Suzanne and Joseph Orley Jewish Family Service Building in West Bloomfield. A planned gift to the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit can be of added benefit in taxation and estate planning, while providing care and service for generations to come.
