JAMD, an associate member of the league, completed its regular season in May with a 21-2-1 record in games against C-D division Catholic League teams. Five schools make up the divi- sion: JAMD, Immaculate Conception, Mt. Carmel, Trinity Catholic and St. Martin DePorres. The champiionshp trophy will be presented at Comerica Park on May 26 during the Catholic League cham- pionship tournament. JAMD Athletic Director Michael Sandweis said JAMD is not eligible to participate in the tournament because of its associate status. Before the school's seniors left for Israel earlier this month, IAMD played its only non-league game, at state-ranked Bloomfield Hills Andover. The Barons pushed across a late-inning run to beat JAMD 1-0. Sandweis said state baseball tourna- ment district play for JAMD will be at Novi Franklin Road Christian on Friday, June 3. The four-team field will play all its games that day to avoid scheduling problems. The teams include JAMD, DePorres, Southfield Christian and the host school. Last year, JAMD went to court against the Michigan High School Athletic Association during the district tournament. JAMD was granted a temporary injunction to play on a Monday, rather than Saturday, but lost the second-round district game. A case is still pending in Oakland County Circuit Court over MHSAA schedul- ing.
