Judge Sosnick: "think of the slaughter."

"justice, truth and the value of a single
human being." Judge Sosnick closed
by reminding the audience of "the
need for vigilance in light of human
tragedies of today. We must be ever
vigilant about our rights and rights
and human dignity of all."
The program, and the fact that it
was held in the county courthouse,
impressed attorney Burt Shifman of
Shifman and Carlson, P.C. in
Southfield.
Remarking on the broad participa-
tion and co-sponsorship of the top
county officials and legal organiza-
tions, including the Oakland County
Bar Association, he said, "It is quite an
accomplishment. To those who
remember what it was like here 50
years ago, it shows how far we have
come and how humans have
chancred

Attorney Martin Baum of Baum
and Associates in Bloomfield Hills said
the lessons of the program "provides
the fulcrum to balance our security
concerns. "The subtleties of applying
the lessons of the past and the govern-
ment imposition of draconian deeds
through the facade of laws, helps bitter
medicine go down easier."
U.S. District Court Judge David M.
Lawson of the Eastern District of
Michigan in Bay City called the pro-
gram "extremely powerful. Judge
Sosnick did a fabulous job. It's a pro-
gram that deserves to be repeated reg-
ularly. It has a contemporary message
that we need to be attentive and sensi-
tive to constantly." ❑
