Forum Focus: All-Star Season

Sharing an inside look at the Tigers,
the all-star game and the season ahead,
Tigers' President, General Manager
and CEO David Dombrowski will
address the topic of "Detroit Tigers
and This Year's All-Star Experience," at
the next Federation Forum Wednesday,
June 15, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at
the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham.
Dombrowski is entering his fourth
season with the Tigers after being
named team president in November
2001 and assuming the role of general
manager in April 2002.
The Federation Forum is sponsored
by the Campaign and Community
Development Department of the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan
Detroit with the support to corporate
partner Comerica Charitable
Foundation. The cost for the dairy
luncheon is $30. A strictly kosher
meal is available upon request.
Reservations are requested by Friday,
June 10, and can be made by contact-

NCCJ Plans Walkathon

The annual Walk As One will take
place Sunday, May 22, on Belle Isle in
Detroit, sponsored by the National
Conference for Community and Justice.
The three-mile walk will begin with
registration at 11:30 a.m. followed by
the walk at 1 p.m. Cultural and ethnic
entertainment will be provided from
11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. with activities
for children and a light lunch to fol-
low the walk.
The event is endorsed by the
Michigan Board of Rabbis. Synagogues
organizing teams for the walk include
Adat Shalom Synagogue, Temple Beth
El, Temple Emanu-El, Temple Kol
Ami and Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
"The date for the walk was changed
from Saturday to Sunday this year to
welcome our sisters and brothers from
the Jewish community," noted Steve
Spreitzer, interfaith coordinator for
NCCJ. "David Gad-Harf, Dave Henig
and Brenda Rosenberg have been very
helpful in getting support, as have
Steve Strome of the Handleman
Company and Josh Eichenhorn of
Standard Federal, who serve as hon-
orary vice chair and chair, respective-
ly. ),

Proceeds from the walk will benefit
the leadership in the New Century
Youth Leadership Discovery programs
sponsored by NCCJ. For information,
