A retired Ferndale School teacher for over 27 years, she had received her master's degree from Wayne State University. Mrs. Kemper was active with the Nucleus Group, an alumni organiza- tion of Central High School. She taught at Mettetal School and the Paul L. Best School. She also won the My Favorite Teacher award from the Detroit News. Mrs. Kemper helped write the math achievement test as part of the Phonics Work Study Program.
