The Jewish Theological Seminary...

Israel Celebration Slated

Yeshivat Akiva, Young Israel Council
of Metropolitan Detroit and the
Kollel Torah MiTzion will host a
community-wide celebration of Yom
Hazikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut.
Yom HaZikaron will be observed
Wednesday, May 11, at Young Israel
of Oak Park, 15140 W. 10 Mile,
Oak Park. The program will begin at
6:30 p.m. with Minchah, followed by
a multimedia Yom HaZikaron com-
memoration presented by Kollel
Torah Mitzion, a celebratory Yom
HaAtzmaut tefilla of Maariv and a
festive meal. During the program,
there will be babysitting for 2-4 year
olds and special program for 5-9 year
olds. The cost is $10/person,
$36/family. For reservations, call
Cheryl Jerusalem, at (248) 544-
8686.
Yom HaAtzmaut will be marked
Thursday, May 12, at Yeshivat Akiva,
21100 W. 12 Mile Road, Southfield.
The celebration will begin at 5 p.m.
Minchah with a seudah (meal) and
activities for children; at 6:30 p.m.
there will be a concert with the
Moshav Band. Cost is $12/person or
$50/family. For reservations, call

Golf Fun At Outing

The Temple Israel Brotherhood will
host its annual golf outing Thursday,
May 19, at Shenandoah Country
Club.
Cost is $100 plus Chai ($118) and
includes golf, free use of the range, a
steak dinner, gifts for all golfers and
more.
