The character of Horace, Dolly's
new love, becomes more important in
the Stratford production than in, other
productions people might have seen in
the theater or in the movies, she said.
"Both are trying to find a companion,
not fall in love any more," she said.
"But, through their experiences in
New York, they fall in love in a mov-
ing, adult way."
Schulman is in her fourth season at
Stratford. Her other productions for
the Ontario theater company were The
King and I, Fiddler on the Roof and
Man of La Mancha. When she returns
to New York, she will be casting for
the national tour of her current
Broadway hit, the family musical Little
Women.
