Work on the Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Detroit's Annual
Campaign often is described as "one Jew
asking another Jew to help a third Jew"
But a little competition doesn't hurt.
In high gear to reach donors before
close of business April 15, Craig Erlich,
CEO of Star Trax Events in Southfield,
wielded his office phone as well as his
cell phone to raise $6,900. And in the
office next door, Star Trax Vice President
Sheri Wagner ran through her list of
donor names to gain another $3,600.

Summing up the "competition" that
took place in his office, Erlich said, "Star
Trax and each and every person who
walks our halls is part of this communi-
ty. It's our honor to have the opportuni-
ty to contribute our time and energy"
During Campaign Countdown week,
April 11-15, 300 volunteers representing
18 agencies and eight congregations
raised $1.2 million.
The 2005 goal is $35 million, with
$31.3 raised so far. About $3.7 million
came from the Frankel Challenge Fund.
