Left: Michigan Theater sign Elaine Margolis, Rachel Seel and Roberta Tankanow, and the JCC staff. That evening, each co-chair spoke to the importance of the film festival to the Ann Arbor community. "This festival is not just another event," Tankanow said. "Movies are universal and are therefore an impor- tant means through which we increase Jewish continuity, celebrations and inspiration." Last year, the New York-based JCC Association announced its strategic plan with the theme "Inspiring Jewish Journeys." As Washtenaw County JCC President David Segaloff said, "This film festival epitomizes the very work that we are trying to do in order to inspire Jewish journeys. With every year, the success of the film festival grows." Director Coppel spoke after the film on Debbie Friedman. "I grew up on Debbie's music," she said. "Wherever I go with this film, community mani- fests itself." BROOKDALE THE HERITAGE of SOUTHFIELD Call about Assisted Living Inclusive Services Starting at $3300! 248-727-2008 Restrictions apply.
