HOLIDAY RECIPES FROM MANISCHEWITZ® AND SEASON:

set. Serves 2 or 3.

FESTIVE POTATO PANCAKES

2 eggs
3/4 cup cold water
1 (3 oz.) package Manischewitz
Potato Pancake Mix
3/4 tsp. onion powder
1 tbs. finely chopped green pepper
1/8 garlic powder
1 tbs. finely chopped carrot
peanut oil for frying
2 tbs. finely chopped sweet red pepper
1/8 tsp. white pepper
1 tbs. finely chopped yellow pepper
1 tbs. chopped parsley

Sardines in olive oil
1/2 cup parsley, chopped
3 tsp. lemon juice
3 tbs. chives, chopped

SARDINE SPREAD

Blend sardines, cream cheese, lemon juice and
parsley. Spread sardine mixture on
Manischewitz Matzo Crackers. Sprinkle with
chives and serve.

2 (4 3/8 oz.) cans Season skinless, boneless
8 oz. package cream cheese, softened

Lightly beat eggs in a medium sized bowl,
and stir in water. Add potato pancake mix,
onion powder, garlic powder and white
pepper. Stir until blended and set aside 3-
5 minutes to thicken. While batter is thick-
ening, put 1/8 of an inch of oil into a large
fry pan and heat over medium high heat.
To the thickened batter, add the chopped
vegetables, and blend thoroughly. Shape a
slightly rounded table-spoonful of batter
into a 2-1/2 inch pancake; place on a wide
metal spatula and lower pancake into hot
oil; repeat with remaining mixture. Brown
on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
Makes approximately 10 pancakes.

Combine brownie mix, matzo cake meal
and 1 tbs. potato starch in a medium sized
bowl. Add butter or margarine and mix
thoroughly. Press mixture over the bottom
of a greased 8 inch spring form pan and
up1 inch on the sides. Set aside. In a
large bowl combine sugar, 2 tbs. potato
starch and cinnamon. Add cream cheese
and sour cream; beat until fluffy. Add eggs
one at a time, stirring in each one befor
adding the next. Add lemon juice and rind;
blend thoroughly. Pour into crust and bake
in a preheated 350_F oven for 60 minutes.
Turn off the oven and leave the cake inside
for another 30 minutes with the door
