The ever-growing list of products
certified as kosher for Passover by
the Orthodox Union in New York,
has expanded this year.
Items with the "OU" symbols can
be found on 275,000 products man-
ufactured in 68 countries. Products
with the "OU P" label indicate those
that are certified for use on Passover.
While the OU P symbol has tradi-
tionally been included on several
brands of domestic matzah, this year,
for the first time, it will also appear
on boxes of matzot coming from
Israeli companies, including Osem,
Yehuda and Rishon brands.
Yanovsky matzah from Argentina
also has received OU P certification
this year.
Various cholov Yisroel products,
which are those receiving the highest
level of dairy certification, will also
bear the OU P symbol. These
include Ahava milk with the Best
Moo label and yogurt with the Slim
U label.
Dairy Delight, a newly certified
OU company, will have sour cream
and yogurt available for Passover
with OU certification under the
Norman's label.
The Norman's label will also pro-
vide cholov Yisroel ready-to-eat pud-
dings as well as hard cheese. Kirkeby
hard cheese imported from Europe
will also be certified by the OU.
Other new products available this
year include: Matzah Sticks, which

are matzah baked in a stick form
produced by Kedem, under the
Savion label; Gefen Passover noodles
made from potato starch; Savion
cupcakes with matzah meal and
cookies without matzah meal;
Macabee frozen pizza, made from
potato starch; King Kold's frozen
matzah balls, potato pancakes,
blintzes, potato kugel, potato pan-
cake batter and matzah ball batter,
all under the Ratner's label.
Manischewitz will be offering low
sodium potato pancake mix and low
sodium matzah ball mix. Also avail-
able in new varieties are Season sar-
dine items in various new sauces and
numerous seltzer supermarket labels.

GP Council Plans Seder

Grosse Pointe Jewish Council mem-

side, offering an array of cultural,
educational and social forums for its
diverse membership. Religious serv-
ices are held throughout the year,
including Rosh Hashanah and Yom
Kippur services. The GPJC also
sponsors a Sunday school for kinder-
garten through eighth-grade.
