Taylor Brooke Henkin, daughter of
Sandy and Roger Henkin and sister
of David, will celebrate her bat
mitzvah Friday, April 8, at Temple
Israel. Sharing the simchah will be
her grandparents Lela and Raymond
Henkin, Seymour Garber and Ilene
and Sol Miller.
An honor student at Bloomfield
Hills Middle
School, Taylor
made blankets for
Gilda's Club in
addition to volun-
teering at Temple
Israel as .a baby sit-
ter during the
High Holidays and
working at the
Labor Day picnic.
Robert David Hirschberg, son of
Natalie and Paul Hirschberg, will be
called to the bimah in celebration of
his bar mitzvah Saturday, April 9, at
Temple Israel. His proud grandpar-
ents are Barbara and Edward
Hirschberg and Berta Isgut. He is
also the grandson of the late Dr.
Robert Isgut. His great-grandmother
is Maria Schiermeyer.
Robert attends Dunckel Middle
School in
Farmington Hills.
He volunteered at
Gleaners Food
Bank in Detroit
and donated funds
to the American
Cancer Society as
part of his mitzvah
projects.
Hannah S. Kowalsky will be called
to the Torah as a bat mitzvah on
Friday, April 8, at Congregation
Shir Tikvah and on Saturday, April
9, at Adat Shalom Synagogue. She
is the daughter of Howard
Kowalsky, Ester Sleutelberg and
Steve Ratiner, sister of Ariel and
granddaughter of Edith Sleutelberg.
She is also the granddaughter of the
late Simon
Sleutelberg and
the late Edith and
Larry Kowalsky.
Hannah is a
double honor stu-
dent at Hillel Day
School of
Metropolitan
Detroit in
Farmington Hills.
Her most meaningful mitzvah proj-
ects include volunteering at the
Friendship Circle and JARC as well
as participating in the Dor L'Dor
program at Fleischman Residence in
West Bloomfield. Hannah also
donated her hair to Locks of Love.
Joshua Evan Levine, son of Julie
and David Buckner and Alan
Levine, will celebrate his bar mitz-
vah Saturday, April 9, at Temple
Israel. He is the brother of Andrew,
Christian, Adam and Alec. He is the
grandson of Lois Harris. He is also
the grandchild of the late Herbert
Harris, the late
Rosalind and Abe
Levine.
